Temporal bone beginner course (2-day event)

Mon 13 Jan 2025 - Tue 14 Jan 2025

Specialties

ENT / CERVICAL / FACIAL SURGERY

The Geneva Temporal Bone Beginner Course is tailored to the needs of young ORL surgeons beginning with temporal bone surgery or a specific interest in advanced simulator training tools in this context.

The training features simulation-based training on virtual and 3D-printed temporal bone models on day 1 followed by a real cadaveric temporal bone surgery on day 2. The course is 98% hands-on, with minimal theoretical content to let participants focus on skills. The theoretical content needed is offered online before the course, to prepare ahead and to enjoy practical training at max during the course.

Directed by Prof. Pascal Senn, this 2-day training welcomes Prof. Mads Sorensen and Dr. Steven Andersen (both from Copenhagen) who not only have developed the Visible Ear Simulator and a dedicated national course in Denmark, but also methods to objectively measure the learning effects and didactic outcome of simulation-based training. Three experienced otologists Prof. Gunesh Rajan (Lucerne), Dr. Mercy George (Lausanne) and PD Dr. Nils Guinand (Geneva) will be attending the course as faculty members.
